Vaginal Prolapse

Hello all

There appears to be heaps of info about uterine prolapse surgery but I can not find anything on post operative pain. I am 44 and had uterine prolapse surgery on Tuesday 3rd of June 08 (lap) to lift the uterus back into position using a soft mesh. The following Wed I started geting what felt like ovulation pain on the right side. The pain subsided by the Sunday and then returned the following Wednesday. As it continued I thought I better ring the doctor before the weekend and he said it was probably likely to be ovulation pain and the 'increased blood circulation from the surgery' may also be contributing to the pain. I asked if it was adhesions he said it was not.

The following Monday was almost incident free with only one brief pain -few minutes -I was excited. I got my period on time (the 1st July) and the pelvic pain returned on the Tuesday and was bad on the the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and is less today. The pain is on and off for a couple of hours and is not excessive but I would just love to know if this is just healing.

If anyone has had what they consider healing pains I would love to hear from you and especially of they pain subsides after the prescibed six weeks post op.
