recovery time

I am afraid. My doctor says I can go back to work just after one week of recovery. I am sooo tired and sore. I am a school teacher and do not feel comfortable sitting in the classroom. I am standing all day and I work in a trailer in the back of the school. Needless to say the bahroom is a hike up a hill. I am on my 6th day postop and I can walk around but I am sore. I tire easily and still have not ventured out in the car. Am I being a baby?

I don't think you're being a baby. I take it you got laproscopic surgery because of the shorter recovery period vs. traditional? I heard that if one does not take it easy in the recovery period, things may not heal correctly. Give yourself a little more time, if at all possible.

I am personally waiting to see a urogyn to find out if I can even have surgery. I am not only just 28, but I have never had children and never been pregnant. Yet I have a definite cystocele and rectocele. I first started noticing it years ago when I was just 22 or so. But I was told that I did not have the condition. It pisses me off! I don't even have a baby to show for it. I may be in your shoes if they allow me to do surgery. Congrats on showing the guts to go through with the op.

You will be fine; give it a little time if you can. And if you absolutely have to go to work, maybe you could figure out a solution (classroom aide, restructuring the classroom layout?) that allows you to sit.
