Where to go next? - Vasectomy caused nerve damage

Post a new topicby infoseekingwife on Wed May 21, 2008 10:15 pm

My husband had a vasectomy 9 months ago. Long story short, he now has nerve damage on both sides of his scrotum. He is in constant, intense pain. (He said it's like that moment after you get hit in the groin -- all the time.)

Right now we are doing the medication route. He's also trying accupuncture (with limited results). Wears a jock strap pretty much 24/7. Does the ice and heating pad routine. Even tried something similar to a TENS unit! But we are wondering if anyone knows of any specialist or treatment we could further explore.

We've been told if it's not better by a year, it may well not get better. A pain specialist said he would PROBABLY heal -- over many years. He's lost his job. We've lost almost everything. We are really hoping for some leads to treatment! Thanks,
