RSD and tooth decayI have had RSD now going on 15 years, it has been full body for 8 yrs of it. I've been through more tests, and been used as a lab rat for many of these years. They have never been able to get mine into remission. Now along with all the pain from having it full body, and some of it internal. My teeth are all rotting out, and snapping off. I have to go to a dentist Tuesday, to get an absest taken care of. Its like they are falling apart from the inside out, if that makes any since to anyone? I'm on a morphine (Dilodid can't spell) Pump. At least that has helped with the extra pain I'm having to endure along with the rsd and loosing my sight. Has anyone else here gone through this or is now going through this?
Re: RSD and tooth decayHi Irishknight,
How are you today? I see that many have read your post and no one has taken the time to answer, and that I fail to understand. Your question on tooth decay can be related to RSD but is more likely related to the meds you are on. Do a google search and look up as much info as you can find and some where in the resources you will find that prolonged use of strong narcotics will and do adversely affect your teeth. It is unfortunate that this is another issue us RSDers have to worry about, but this is something to keep in mind. I have read that higher than normal doses of calcium and magnesium will help in slowing the damage, but if you are having the problem now it may be a bit late, but never too late to try. You may also look up or search for a Dr Hooshmand, a retired specialist in the field of RSD treatment, and on his website he has a section devoted to RSD and your teeth. I hope this helps some and pray that you find success in your journey. May you be blessed in your endeavor, and your pain free days outnumber your discomforts, g0j0g0
