ketamine infusion

Post a new topicby 2ndtwin on Sat Aug 16, 2008 10:22 am

Has anyone out there had or heard of " ketamine infusion" as a treatment of pain for RSD patients? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. My doctor would like to try this but we are in a battle with my insurance company because it is considered "experimental".

Thank you for the information. After being turned down by insurance and reading more about the ketamine I have decided to have a spinal cord stimulator. Thanks again!

Yes. I have had RSD for 35 years. This last bout was for a slipped disc in my back that made everything go crazy again. I tried pt, acunpuncture, nerve blocks, radio frequency nerve ablation. I've gone to many specialists and the last 3 have all said the same thing. So I already have an appointment with my neurosurgeon to discuss it. Thank you so much for your help and thoughts.

have you considered cold laser therapy and fenzian treatments? I, too, have been "blessed with this most of my life and found the above to be very helpful as well as the meilus muscular treatment. Worth a shot!

for sure - you can see my article written in the 2007 winter issue of the RSDSA newsletter - look for cold laser therapy and fenzian - should you be unable to download that - give me a shout and I can forward to your email.
