I am so confused ..Hi there,
I have come to this forum to look for some advice and support after possibly the worst year of my life which I think is caused by PID Basically (and I will try and keep this as short as possible) I was diagnosed last march 2009 with Chlamydia which I had undignosed for two years. The reason I suspected something was wrong was due to bleeding in between periods..anyway I was sent to the gyny and he said I had severe cervial erosion and tested me for stds and i got a letter to say I had tested positive for Chlamydia I was immediately treated with two antibiotics and after some further testing it was clear. The problem I have is that about two months after this I have started with all manner of symptoms and I have been to the doctors numerous times only to be told to go away and given tablets for irritable bowel syndrome. My symptoms have varied from month to month but basically after my periods I am now having pain, which I never had before. i am also getting bouts of constipation and diarrhea and severe nausea with very bad abdominal cramping. I am also having shooting pains like scitica down my legs after my period and last month I had very bad lower back pain in my left side which lasted about 11 days. This month two days before my period I woke up in the middle of the night with horrific abdominal cramps that lasted about twenty five mins accompanied with nausea. I was nearly going to go to A and E but it subsided so I didnt, because the agony was so intense and I was terrified. I am also suffering cramp pains during ovulation which I only know as I am currently monitoring my cycle. I have also been trying to conceive for the past seven months without any luck. My doctor has been very unhelpful and every month he tells me its just IBS. I am desperate for a baby and time is running out for me due to a history of premature ovarian faliure in my mothers side. Do you think I have PID because my GP seems to think that because I had treatment for the chlamydia it would have cured this but from my reading I am not so sure. I am terrified that I am being fobbed off and as each month passes my body is being damaged further. Can anyone advise me.. did you have similar symptoms etc? Thanks so much for any replies in advance.
Re: I am so confused ..Have you asked to be tested or to get an exam for PID? I know how you feel. I had it for about a year and a half without being treated, except I got it from something other than an STD and I know nothing about what was happening to my body because my doctor jsut gave me meds and sent me home. I have finished my medicine and I still feel a lot of pain and I dont feel any better. Good luck!
