What's my next step?Ok...here it is in a nutshell:
I am 39 years old, a kindergarten teacher, mother of 3, and wife of a husband who spends 6 mos. of the year overseas. I have always had tingly (almost like being shocked by electricity) feelings for as long as I can remember. My extremeties will just fall asleep and get cold for no apparent reason. I was prescribed Cymbalta over a year ago for stress/anxiety but never mentioned any of the above symptoms to my GP because I didn't think anything about it. Now lately (about four mos. now) I have had a reoccurance of shingles on the tops of my feet. I finally went to my GP to get some answers or maybe just some relief at this point. He poo-pooed it and said it was infected sweat glands (?? WHAT!?) and there was nothing he could do but prescribe Lidex, a steroid cream, for the swelling and to use it for only two weeks and very sparingly. He wouldn't listen to the other symptoms that I was having and that were growing worse every day: * The all over tingling and burning * Severe itching of my entire feet EXCEPT the bottoms where sweat glands are (DUH!!!) * Severe itching of my hands, forearms, head, and thighs * Deep itching and burning in my thighs that will occur suddenly and is very painful like someone stabbing me with an ice pick * A feeling of electrical shocks that will run rampant throughout my body several times a day without any warning My husband says I need to get an appointment with a neurologist but after talking with several people and seeing these posts, I feel like I won't get anywhere. Time off work is VERY precious and has to be protected since I am a teacher ans subs are VERY hard to get. What should I do?
