perheric neuropathy

Post a new topicby Pieter on Tue Apr 22, 2008 3:51 pm

Hello,

My mother in law is now for more than six weeks laying in a hospital with perheric neuropatical symptons in her legs and hands. In these period several tests have been done, trying to find something in the internalbody. But all the results where negative, nothing has been found in the kidney's, liver, longs etc. The brains and spinal are also clean.

The first diagnose which was given was Guillian Barre. A reasonable diagnose looking to the symptons. But after examination the doctors said in a later stadium it's not Guillian Barre. So after six weeks we are still without a diagnose and treatment.

It started with pain in her legs and lower back. Whithin two days see had no feelings in her both under legs and also having a tintling feeling in her hands. The first week she did nothing else than trowing up her stomag. Her Natrium level was extremely low (116). Now her Natrium level is normal agian after treatment with salt and supllements. But still less progress in her condition. She still cant walk and is having a tintling feeling in her hands.

I know neuropathy is a diffecult medicalcy and i'am also aware there will no reason be found. My question is: Can there be a connection with the physical effects (for example: traumatical experience like a bankrobbery and a awfull yought) on the neuropathical system of the body. Where can I find some information about this

With regards

Pieter
