Chondrotoma, ligament tumor, lower femur

Post a new topicby Amicus on Thu Aug 20, 2009 11:14 am

I started having pain in my knee area on a friday. The pain seemed to be from behind the knee and was mild. Two days later, on Sunday, my pain was severe and I could not put weight on that leg. The pain now seemed to be from inside the knee. I treated pain with 800 mg Ibu and RICE. I went to the doctor and x-ray showed spots on my lower femur around where the ligament atatches. I was told it was maybe a cyst, but more likely was a tumor. I think it is spelled Chondrotoma. I will get MRI tomorrow (friday). I dont recall injuring my knee and the onset of the pain/injury seems very fast. Does anyone know what the most common treatment options are? I have know idea whats next. I am still in a good deal of pain but the cortisone shot I was given has helped enough that I am able to go to work. I am just looking for advice. Thanks
