Kidney Stones

I had a kidney stone removed almost two weeks ago by uteroscopy. I did not have a stent put in. I am having pain under my left rib cage and left side. It comes and goes but is painful. Not as bad as the kidney stones but it is uncomfortable. I have tried to get answers from my doctor about this problem but he ain't giving me any answers only pains meds, which I don't like taking because I have to take care of my baby when my husband is at work. Does anyone have any ideas why I would be having this pain.

I'm assuming your stone was on the left side. If they broke the stones with lithotripsy, it will take some time for the gravel to pass, and because the ureter got irrritated by the scope, you'll have some pain for w while after the stones broken up. The stents are supposed to help, because your ureter will spasm some because the scope irritated it and you're passing the gravel/sand. Shouldnt last more than 2 weeks or so.

I've had over 30 stones in the last 35 years, passed most, but had procedures on 6 or so. I hate stents too.
