lithotripsy tomorrow AMI am off to the regional stone center tomorrow morning for my first ever procedure. After spending the entire month of May passing a stone that was just under 1cm on my own, but dr said NO MORE. It is time you get rid of them. He said he doesn't know how I passed it and didn't miss a day of work and I still managed to be a mom and work 50 hours a week. I never want to go through that tortue again. After this one the little ones are easy!
Anyways, I am a little nervous about the procedure. My potassium has been low, but I am taking the supplement. After tomorrow I think I will be on more meds than my dad and I am only 32 and in pretty good health. Has anyone else taken hydrochlorithizde?? (SP??). I already have low potassium (which this can lower it even more) and Ihave low blood pressure (this is to lower blood pressure), it is a diuretic and I already go all the time. I am very nervous about taking it. Hopefully no stent will be needed because we are going on vacation soon. Hopefully all will be great tomorrow. :) -gh
Re: lithotripsy tomorrow AMWow. 1cm is a really big stone to pass...usually anything bigger than 7mm needs litho. I took HCTZ for a long time, it didn't stop my stones from forming. Your docs need to get together to make sure HCTZ is ok for you, since you have low potassium and low BP...
The lithotripsy is painless and a great alternative to passing a boulder. The stents I hate...hope you dont have to have one.
