Flomax, side effects on females?

Post a new topicby sunniegnt on Mon May 19, 2008 1:16 am

Hi, I am currently a nursing mom of a 4th month old. I passed 12 stones during my pg with her. I have been passing a stone for the past week with severe pain and excessive blood in my urine. I am having lithotripsy in a few weeks, but right now my dr is suggesting flomax. If I take it, I have to stop nursing. My question - what are the side effects for women? Any effects on future fertility? Does it cause you to have to go more often? He wants to put me on a diuretic too so my urine will cycle more quickly so I will stop obsorbing so much calicum from it. I have to limit my calicum intake as well which is REALLY hard for me. Any advice. I have been dealing with this for 3 years, but finally getting some answers and treatments now that it has become so severe. We think this is what caused my daughter to be born so early.

Hi I use flomax for my kidney stones. I don't really know what the side effects are (since I haven't had experienced any yet) but every time I know that i am coming down with kidney stone pains....I pop a flomax and in like 3 days my kidney stone is gone. Flomax does make me have to urine more often but it doesn't make me feel sick or whoozy.

I have been told by my doctor to not have children because it heightens the risk of preclampsia and also early birth. I am glad to hear that you were able to have your daughter and she is healthy!

Take care!
