Mom, wife living with ICI am a 30-year-old wife and Mom of 2. My IC first started around the time I got pregnant with my first child. It wasn’t until 4 years later (after my second child was born) that I was diagnosed. I though it was just ovarian cysts and recurrent bacterial vaginal infections. Re: Mom, wife living with ICHello, Im a 23 year old female and i just found out i have IC. For a year I felt like i had a UTI and when i would go to the DR they would tell i didn't have one. They made me feel like i was nuts for being in there and not to mention paying the medical bills with no result was frustrating all in itself. So when i found out what was wrong with me, it was a relief but now it's really got me down b/c not only cannot i enjoy foods and drinks i once enjoyed but my sex life with my husband has diminished and he tries to be compassionate but he doesn't understand. do you have any advice how you deal with this? is yours severe? was it hard being pregnant with this condition? anything will help! It really helped reading your story though. How you wont let it get you down, Im trying so hard not too!!
Re: Mom, wife living with ICHi,
I am thankful for you sharing your story with us. I was recently diagnosed with IC at the age of 41. I too thought I was going crazy. I new something was wrong but what? I have already had a complete hysterectomy and didn't think there was anything else there that could give me the chronic pelvic pain that I have been having. My sex life has too been affected, my boyfriend tries to understand but he really doesn't. I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that I have an illness for which there is no cure. All we can do is pray and stick together. Roxanne
