vibrating feeling in footI posted a recent message about my foot pain from a new pair of softball cleats. I went to the docter and he told me there was just severe bruising and the x-rays looked fine. I was diagnosed with tendonitis in the same foot last summer. When I raise my toes, there is a vibrating feeling. It isn't like a horrible pain but should I keep running?
Sponsored LinksRe: vibrating feeling in footI recently responded to your earlier post to possibly obtain X-Rays. Now that you have the X-Rays and no stress fractures have been found, this narrows done the likely diagnosis to tendonitis, if there are not more severe soft tissue injuries. As to your question of running, only you will know when it starts to hurt. If the pain comes on, it is telling you there is excessive pressure or pulling of the tendons/ligaments in that region and warning you to slow down. A soft tissue can and usually does take longer than a fracture to heal up. The reason is the soft tissue structures are constantly moving with and every step and do not get a good chance to heal up unless they are immobolized. I would severely limit your running and if the pain continues, I would stop running all together until the pain is resolved. Otherwise, this condition could go on for many months. If the pain continues, I would follow up again with the doctor, maybe even repeat the X-Rays to see if a stress fracture shows up at a later date and possibly have a MRI done to evaluate the degree of the soft tissue injury.
