Top of Foot PainI have had chronic foot pain for a number of years now. It used to come and go, a few months at a time on, then no pain for a few months. In the last couple of years, it has been pretty constant. The pain is located primarily on the tops of both feet. There is also pain on the sides of both heels. I recently went to a podiatrist because the pain was keeping me awake at night (pain usually occurs when I'm inactive...early morning and evening). First, he prescribed an anti-inflammatory, which did not help, and he seems to think my pain is a mystery. Any ideas what could be causing this? I feel like the podiatrist is trying to treat the pain, rather than the cause. It doesn't seem to matter what type of shoes I wear. Any insight would be great.
