Neuroma

Post a new topicby ms.vainity on Fri Oct 12, 2007 10:17 am

I need some help. I just came from the doctor regarding a neuroma in both feet. Although it is worse in my left foot, there is also one in my right. Two years ago this month I have bunionectomy done on both feet, & it is believed that the neuormas were caused by different walking patterns after the surgery.

I am an avid walker....used to walk at the very least 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 miles each morning on my treadmill 5/6 days a week. Since the beginning of the summer when my neurormas developed, that has backed off, and since middle of August I have not been on my treadmill; instead walking 2 miles in the evening outside.

Am planning on having the surgery done (both feet) preferably next week, as the pain is getting worse no matter what shoes I wear....and I can no longer wear sandals with the onset of fall/winter.

Anybody out there that has had this surgery done & what are your thoughts & what has the outcome been for you? Is surgery the only way to go once they get to this point? I have brand new orthotics from the chiropracter, but have not had time to see if they will make a difference. I need to be able to still work out...preferably by walking. How will this affect that??

Also very vain & LOVE to wear my cute, sexy shoes....with heels thank you very much. HELP...NEED ADVICE!!! Husband does not think I need surgery.....
