Hindfoot and Midfoot painI am not even sure where I should start. I have pain in my heel on bothsides of my ankle in the arch and along the top. All of this on my right foot. I know there is more than one problem. An MRI confirmed Plantar Fasciitis and a large bone spur to account for my heel and arch pain. I have tendonitis on the inside of my ankle due to an accessory navicular bone. I already had surgery to tighten the ligament on the outside of my foot and it is starting to hurt again. With this pain I am also having pain along the top of my foot near the third metatarsal bone and it occasionally goes up into the ankle area. I have had some problem with the nerve in this area since the surgery but never any pain. I don't know why the outside ankle area is hurting again. I am rolling my foot towards the outside because there is so much pain in my heel. And every solution I have to the heel pain is usually temporary and causes the inside ankle area to have more pain. I have two options left as far as DRs are concerned. Topaz which is invasive but at least it is only making an incision down to the tendon and not actually cutting anything. If that doesn't work a full out surgery on the PF. I really don't want anymore surgery and I can't have it til 2008 even if I decide to go for it. I am also worried that it won't affect either side of my ankle or the top. I am at my wits end and have seen at least 6 podiatrist in the last year. I have custom orthotics, I do stretches, ice it every night, I am currently taping it which causes only slightly less pain than it prevents and only in my heel, I am completely intolerant to cortisone shot. I am using a lace-up ankle brace with the taping and orthotics because of the ankle pain. Does anyone have any thoughts on anything else that could be going on with my foot or anything else I can try.
