Sharp Pain when exhalingI got a sharp pain in my chest that lasted about 2 days. Whenever I would exhale the pain would shoot in my upper left chest about an inch below my collar bone and the pain was on the side of my left chest as well. Since then I haven't felt the pain, but am wondering if it could be something serious I need to get checked out. The pain was enough to make me wince and adjust my position frequently to lessen the pain.
My breaths were short on a couple of occasions during the 2 days and I'd take about 3 small breaths and then take a full breath on the 4th. I do have asthma so I am reluctant to go to ER's right away because doing this type of breathing exercises usually calms my breathing-- and it did this time. My breaths would become normal, but the pain remained for the full 2 days. Was this possibly an infection that I was able to fight off or could it be something more serious? By the time I was going to make the trip to the ER, the pain was gone. (Medical Facts: Asthma, Allergies, Smoker, Drinker) Please reply!
