Two CancersIn November of 2003, I was diagnosed with breast cancer On December 23, I had a masectomy and then began my chemo and radiation regimen. This was my daughter’s senior year and we tried to make everything as normal as possible. Our stories are very similar. I diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2006 at the beginning of my twins' senior year in high school. I was the school nurse at their school and went thru mastectomy, chemo and reconstruction. My oncologist thought it best if I did not work with all those sick kids so I missed most of the school year. During one of my 3 month checkups, I asked my oncologist about having a colonoscopy because I had turned 50 the previous Aug. with a history of cancer. He said "sure, why not." So on March 5th I had a routine colonoscopy and found out I had colon cancer. No symptoms. Had my colon resection, no colostomy thank God, and am now about to have my 3rd chemo treatment. You are the first person I have found to have had a second primary site like me. I know there must be others but have not met any. I look forward to being done with all this and being cancer free. What is your medical routine now? PET scans, follow ups, etc.? If you feel like talking, let me know. rebwilke
